Isabella came into the world with cold feet, pointing toward signs of her congenital heart defect, hypoplastic aortic arch. Through both warmth and wanting, Isabella’s parents, Melissa and Sergio Quiroga fought for their daughter’s life. Not only did Paul Chai, MD, pediatric cardiac surgeon, enlarge Isabella’s aortic arch, he expanded the Quiroga’s horizon faith and fortitude.

True to her name’s meaning, God’s promise or God is my oath, Florida Hospital for Children’s Pediatric Cardiovascular Program promises future Isabella’s the type of heart care they need—now close to home. Dr. Ramos explains how this revolutionary heart program enables Florida Hospital to take a quantum leap, while giving hope and healing to the families of Central Florida.
